Coachella finally announced the set times for this years 2012 lineup. This seems to be even more last minute than last year, and from quickly browsing the list we are already catching some unfortunate time conflicts and interesting change-ups to the schedule. Most notably the Black Keys don't seem to be headlining as much as the original flyer had suggested (the name used to be the Boldest for the Friday Lineup) Instead it would appear that the Swedish House Mafia are headlining friday as they have the latest set time for that night. To be honest I am not too upset about that, however I know those more inclined to the Rock/Indie acts are going to be disappointed. It makes sense though, the Coachella festival last year had 3 different gene styles headline the 3 different days: The Crystal Method (EDM/House Friday) Arcade Fire (Rock Saturday) and Kanye West (Hip Hop Sunday.) Had they kept the original lineup this years Coachella would have been 2 rock acts and Hip Hop, however changing it to Swedish House Mafia headlining has kept the same formula. Apart from that, this years Set Times have the usual unfortunate conflicts for me. Fridays Set Times for example have a M83, The Black keys, and Afrojack ll in the same time area. That is going to be hard to figure out who to prioritize, however since I say the Black keys last year I think I may choose M83. Saturday's set times, holy shit. STRKT, Feist, Flying Lotus, Bon Iver, David Guetta, The Shins. That is going to be incredibly tough to figure out who to cut out. From what I see Saturday's set times are the most conflicting. Sunday also has a few later on: Justice, Gotye, Nero, Avicii Florence + The Machine. As soon as I have enough time to properly has out a proper list of what set times to make sure are ones not to miss I will post it to help those looking for a guide through this years set time fiasco. Our best suggestion for getting your hands on the time slot list is for you to you: 'hold-your-horses!' The lineup will be announced by this Thursday at the very latest, in-fact there's a good chance it will be announced sometime today.
